When is an exam required at your clinic?
An exam is required for any pet under 1 year of age on their very first visit to our clinic to make sure your pet is healthy enough to receive treatment. Additionally, we are required by law to perform an exam any time medical-related services are needed for each specific need such as medications, tests, travel certificates, treatments, etc. However, unfortunately, due to state regulations exams from other veterinary facilities do not fulfill these requirements, the exam must be done at our facility.
What happens during an exam?
During an exam, the client will be in the consultation room/lobby, meanwhile, the patient will be in a treatment area until the checkout and approved treatment are complete. An exam includes:
- Weight and temperature
- Vital signs
- Systemic organ assessment
- Detail discussion with the veterinarian of all your pet’s health concerns
- Discussion of exam findings
- Treatment plan options with estimates
- Recommendations
How can I schedule an appointment?
To make a scheduled exam or tech appointment (Tues-Fri 2-4 pm), you would need to pay a deposit ($59 for the exam, $19 for the technician) to reserve a slot. The deposit is non-refundable/non-transferable and only covers the exam/reservation part of the visit (vaccines, medication, and treatment are extra). The day/time we schedule your appointment you have an extra 5-minutes grace period. If for any reason you are unable to make your appointment, need to cancel, or come in too late you will lose both the deposit and appointment. During an exam, the client will be in the consultation room/lobby, meanwhile, the patient will be in a treatment area until the checkout and approved treatment is complete.
